Parking Lot Lighting Surveys
Lewis Electric now does Lighting Surveys. The object of a lighting survey is to determine the footcandles on the parking surface. There are a few reasons for this type of survey.
To check for compliance with a local ordinance.
To determine if the footcandle level is compatible with the recommended levels for the specific use of the area.
To see how much the existing lighting has degraded over time. Lamps, after time, begin to lose output. The optics of the fixture, the glass and the reflector become dirty or cloudy. It takes the same amount of power to run a fixture that is operating at 100% efficiency as it does for one operating at 50%. You just have half the light.
Lewis Electric will provide a scaled rendering of your parking area complete with point by point measurements of lighting levels in either lumens or footcandles. As an option, the existing fixture photometric data with tilt and orientation can be overlaid.
