The following Statutes are from the full
version of the 1997 Florida Statutes. These are selected for their relevance to topics of
interest to Contractors and Customers alike.
FS 471.003 Qualifications for
Practice, exemptions.
- This Statute covers the limitations of design scope for Electrical,
Plumbing, and Mechanical Contractors.
FS 489.5335 Journeyman Reciprocity.
- Statute relating to the Reciprocity of Journeyman Electrician
licenses between Florida Counties.
FS 553.17 Application (State Electrical
Code)
- This Statute covers the application of the State Electrical Code and
specifically exempts nonresidential farm buildings.
FS 553.73 State Minimum Building Code
- Creates the State Minimum Building Code.
- FS 553.73.7 States "such regulations shall not
apply to nonresidential farm buildings on farms; to temporary buildings or sheds used
exclusively for construction purposes; to mobile homes used as temporary offices,".
- Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA)
Interpretation of the South Florida Building Code, Section 1501 as it relates
to Florida Statute 553.73.
FS 553.79 Permits; applications;
issuance; inspections.
- This Statute again covers Contractor limitations.
